Biography

Gül Memis, known by her artist name Artsy Rose Berlin, is a Berlin-based artist with Turkish roots. Her distinctive visual language emerges from an intuitive and powerful painting style, vibrant acrylic colors, glossy surfaces, and a unique interplay of gesture, emotion and memory. Her work is characterized by expressive brushstrokes, intense color contrasts and deep light. The painting oscillates between controlled composition and impulsive release. At the heart of her current practice is the concept of "Four Colors One Memory", a single memory condensed into four colors. Each shade stands for a feeling, a detail, a moment, and together they create a visual memory beyond language. As a self-taught artist, Gül Memis does not follow a traditional path. Her approach is driven by curiosity, devotion and an inner urgency that manifests in a raw, often physically demanding painting process. The canvas becomes a space of resonance where impulse, emotion and movement unfold into a powerful visual expression.

Her clear artistic voice, poetic visual language and authentic presence resonate organically in the digital space.

Additional Work

In addition to her artistic practice, Gül Memis works as a social media manager. Creativity, intuition and visual storytelling are also central in this context. Despite this thematic closeness, her art remains a completely free and unfiltered process, rooted in instinct rather than strategy. Her work is not calculated but necessary.

Artist Statement

"Four Colors One Memory", for me, memory begins with color. Each shade holds a feeling, an echo, an image. Turquoise, for example, is not just a greenish blue, it is the moment my father emerged from a crowd. His shirt was exactly that color. He is gone, but turquoise remains. I never sought out art, it was always there, quietly insisting, hidden between everyday moments, in forgotten sketchbooks. Today, art is my home, my center. I work with acrylics, direct, vibrant, uncompromising. Bold brushstrokes and glossy layers capture the light. Light is my silent co-creator, it completes what I begin, it highlights, transforms, swallows and reminds me that nothing ever stands still. My works are not answers but spaces of resonance, for memory, loss, longing, for the unspeakable. I love it when people touch my paintings, when fingers trace the brushstrokes, the texture, what reaches out into the space. What I paint is not meant to explain, but to remember, to remember what lives deep within us, intuition, strength, freedom, not only as memory but as drive.
